No mention, anywhere on the www that I have yet found, that this jew is a jew. Here are a few of his writings from his CV. He has received numerous grants to fly to IZ. He has articles on why Saddam should be taken out and why we must stop Iran dating at 1998 and 2000.:

Born in Switzerland on August 31, 1945, he lectures and publishes widely in the United States and abroad on matters relating to terrorism, nuclear terrorism, nuclear strategy, and nuclear war. His work on Israeli security concerns is well-known in Israel, where he is a frequent speaker on military and defense matters.

In recent years Professor Beres has lectured at such Israeli venues as the Dayan Forum (with Maj. Gen. Avihu Ben-Nun); the National Defence College (IDF); the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies; BESA (Bar-Ilan University); Likud Chamber; Likud Security Group; the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs; and the International Christian Embassy (Jerusalem). He has co-authored several articles with AMB. Zalman Shoval dealing with the hazards, to Israel, of Palestinian demilitarization in a Palestinian state, and he was featured in a widely-reprinted debate with Maj. Gen. Shlomo Gazit (former Chief of IDF Intelligence Branch) on the "Middle East Peace Process."

Professor Beres's work is well-known to P M Sharon, to the intelligence and academic communities in Israel, and to the IDF General Staff. [color="Red"]
He is Chair of Project Daniel
, a small group effort to advise the PM on certain existential security issues, primarily growing threats of nuclear war and unconventional terrorism.

[color="red"]Consistent with The National Security Strategy of the United States of America and the strategic objectives of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Israel has an inherent right to defend itself without first absorbing biological and/or nuclear attacks. This is true irrespective of the cumulative outcome of Operation Iraqi Freedom or of particular criticisms now directed toward the United States.

Project Daniel began with the assumption that Israel’s security environment must be appraised continuously, and that the threat of irrational state and nonstate enemies armed with WMD assets represents the single most urgent danger to the country’s survival.

In the United States Professor Beres has worked on matters of nuclear terrorism with the Defense Nuclear Agency (DoD); Arms Control and Disarmament Agency; Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA); Nuclear Control Institute; and the JFK Special Warfare Center (DoD). [color="red"]He is also Strategic and Military Affairs analyst for THE JEWISH PRESS in New York City. Professor Beres's columns appear often in such newspapers as THE NEW YORK TIMES; INDIANAPOLIS STAR; CHICAGO TRIBUNE; LOS ANGELES TIMES; USA TODAY; BOSTON GLOBE; WASHINGTON POST; CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR; JERUSALEM POST (Israel); HAARETZ (Israel) and NEUE ZUERICHER ZEITUNG (Switzerland).

The question is, does Israel currently have the military capability to deter a nuclear Iran? Does Israel have the muscle to make diplomacy meaningful? In the article below, Professor Louis Rene Beres and Lt. General Thomas McInerney indicate that Israel does not yet have an ironclad defense against Iran.
