Judeo-Supremacism in the Israeli Knesset
The defenders of Israel like to boast of the fact that Israeli Arabs have the ‘right’ to vote and are permitted to serve within the Israeli Knesset as parliamentary representatives. This boast is used to disprove the view that Israeli Arabs are second class in Israel.
While it is true that Arabs can vote and serve in the Knesset there are major limitations against gentiles; a certain fact that appears to be largely unknown in the west is that the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) can actually expel members for denying or challenging the Jewish nature or “Jewishness” of the Israeli state.
I refer to the UK Guardian Unlimited article of Dec 30, 2002 titled: “Knesset moves to bar Arab members”
[color="Blue"]“Under a new law introduced in May, the Knesset can disqualify a candidate or party for denying Israel's existence as a Jewish or democratic state”
This may appear to be a tad confusing but it is quite easy to understand. If a gentile MP advocates secularising the religious Jewish state of Israel they can be removed from parliament.
For example, a gentile Arab MP who advocates policy seeking to effect changes that would secularise Israel into a state that would benefit gentile Arabs as equal citizens in both theory and practice could be expelled from the Knesset for such advocacy.
From the Jan 27, 2003 edition of the Sydney Morning Herald from an article titled: “Unrepentant Arab MP back to represent forgotten constituency”
[color="Blue"]“Last month the Israeli Attorney-General, the Shin Beth security service and the right-wing Jewish political parties came together to ban MP Azmi Bishara from running again for parliament this week.”
{snip}
The country's election committee had ruled Mr Bishara had breached a recent law disbarring from parliament anyone who openly opposed the "Jewishness" of the Israeli state.
It does not end here but actually extends further; Israeli politicians actually want all Members of the Knesset to take a pledge to keep Israel a “Jewish State!” Of course no Arab gentile MP who seeks to turn Israel into a TRULY secular democracy to benefit all citizens of Israel would agree to do this! What happens to these Gentile Arab MP’s when they refuse to take a pledge they could never honour? From an article titled “New law to require referendum before future Israeli withdrawals” from the May 16, 2007 edition of Haaretz:
[color="Blue"]A law written by MK David Rotem (Yisrael Beitenu) and MK Zevulon Orlev (NRP) was also passed by the Knesset plenum during its preliminary reading on Wednesday. The law would require MKs to pledge their devotion to keeping Israel "a Jewish and democratic state, both in character and symbolism."
The law is one of a number of new legislative measures taken against Arab MKs after the revelation that the security establishment suspects former-MK Azmi Bishara (Balad) of assisting Hezbollah during the Second Lebanon War.
During the debate in the General Assembly, MK Zehava Gal-on (Meretz) called the law "a fascist law" and MK Ahmad Tibi (Ra'am-Ta'al) said that "soon enough they'll require us to wear a uniform."
MK Rotem stated that if faith in the State of Israel is fascist, "then I'm a fascist."
MK Orlev added that the passing of the law signified "a great day for the Knesset and the State of Israel. Zionism won. The Knesset has proven that it is not ready to commit suicide."
So one must ask what good is the gentile Arab vote when Arab MP’s can be expelled for looking out for the collective interests of the Arab gentile people. What effect can the Arab gentile vote truly have in the big picture when Knesset policy allows the punishment of Arab MP’s who want to secularise Israel into a state that would truly be a benefit to them and gentile Arabs as a people?
The following is for the ADL-types who promote diversity for us but support Israeli 'democracy;' this would no different than Apartheid South Africa telling blacks that they could vote as long as the MP’s they elected recognised that the “whiteness” or white “nature” of the state. It would be no different than Apartheid South Africa telling black MP’s that they could serve in parliament as long as they accept that the “whiteness” of the state must be protected and left unchallenged. How effective would such votes and MP’s be in practice under such conditions?
Those who tell us that Israel is not a racialist state due to the fact that Arabs are permitted to vote or can serve in the Judeo-Supremacist Knesset are merely deceiving themselves or trying to deceive us!
