I feel sorry for you forum members who live in the less civilized parts of the US. Here in Denver it's always like an episode of Ozzie and Harriet.

How to start? Well, I recently sold my house and moved for a while (year lease) into an apartment, only about a mile south. My house was about 200 yards north of Cherry Creek...a pretty little river that runs into downtown Denver through very nice neighborhoods. It is, or was, a popular walking path and bike path...less so now.

Prelims over: I was having a beer or two yesterday evening, talking with a woman who lives close to Cherry Creek, a little closer to downtown than I did, and she told me that they are finding on average one dead human in the Creek a month. Last week set a record. The police found three bodies in Cherry Creek in just that week. I went home thinking I would post this the next day (today.)

I went to bed and was awoken by police noise. I looked out my apartment window and saw a bunch of cop cars. I thought it was either a wreck or a DUI stop.

Nope, two men were shot and killed on the street in front of my apartment about 10:30 last night. Well! that's never happened! Yes, it has. About a year ago...the same thing.

Now you're thinking that I live in a nigger or spic ghetto. The truth is I live and lived in a very upscale part of Denver. About 96% successful Whites, mostly middle age and retired whites. Also young professionals. Really one of the cleaner better neighborhoods in Denver.

What the fuck is going on?

Mike
