Repost of my post on Ld4 which didn't receive quite the attention i thought it would, apparently these suckers are more interested in masturbation than real development of the mind:

Hello, long story short i've been practicing lucid dreaming for about 12 years after experiencing it when i was about 12-13 years old. I'm kind of autodidact and wasn't even aware that such communities existed until this morning

So, here's my take on the subject.

After having practiced for so long i'm somewhat able to control the phenomenon at will; i will explain this with the graph below.

The blue zone, as you have guessed, is the normal dream zone, nothing outstanding so far.

Light blue zone represents what i dubbed the realization stage, where you connect lucidity with the dream. The images from this stage to lucid dreaming are practically inexistant, it's just trial and error to maintain a somewhat stable 'connection' with the dream.

Yellow zone is the established lucid dream. Dropping back to the realization stage sometimes has a feeling of "from heaven to earth", where you 'see' yourself into some kind of tunnel going back and forth. Getting to this point however usually means the lucid dream is lost, unless you're extremely lucky/undisturbed.

The orange zone, dubbed "Disconnection" or sometimes what i like to call "danger zone" is when you attain a level of concentration/conscience that far exceeds the usual standards. This zone is usually unpleasant, as (as i experienced at least) you're basically jumping back and forth from lucid dream directly to full-blown consciousness (understand: awake) with an awfully painful headache. This feeling is hard to describe, it's like your brain can't decide which world to stick to.

This is what gives the title "disconnection", my take on it is that your brain is totally disoriented because of the extreme concentration and usually gives up, waking you up with the mother of all headaches.

The nitty-gritty red zone now. I've only been able to attain that 'level' (keep in mind this is just my way of seeing things a few times. Maybe 10 times in the last 10 years. It always happened when i've stickied to the 'dream side' of the orange zone.

'Hyper-consciousness' (as i dubbed it) is in my opinion the most amazing experience one can have. It's no longer about thinking something, doing something or having a great time in a lucid dream. Love, hate, sadness, etc... emotions aren't relevant anymore. You 'are' the dream; the world is one and you are one with the world. So far, nothing contradicted my opinion that premonitory dreams are the level ABOVE hyper-consciousness access "by accident" for a microscopic amount of time.

It really cannot be described without looking like a *** cultist. That sort of 'connecting with the universe' kind of crap, but bigger ! Your physical self isn't 'interesting' anymore, like if you left it behind when entering an upper level of conscience, hence hyper-consciousness

The red zone experience is usually very brief (even in 'dream time') and will completely vampirize your physical and mental capacities; you'll wake up disoriented. Totally.

You'll be unable to estimate distances; concentrating on anything will be next to impossible and most of your muscles will be numb as if you just participated in a 10 hours sporting event. My take on that is the concentration required is so intense for the brain to sustain that it leeches off the body ressources at a 10x speed.

So, that's it for now, i'm going to sleep Hope you enjoyed the read

Maybe WN's can understand :)

Thinking... Please wait.
