I was at the gas station feeding my Impala when I noticed an older man pumping next to me wearing a baseball cap. It was blue with white letters:
"Make lying bad again."
This is obviously a take on "Make America great again." The MAGA hat is always red, this hat was blue. Blue state wisdom? So, whose wisdom? I asked the man whose side this was. "I don't know," he said evasively, "someone just sent me this cap. I don't know anything about it," and didn't want to talk.
It seems to be an attack on Trump and, by implication, support for Biden as being...truthful? Honest?...as opposed to Trump, or is the hat a satiric attack on the blue states and their hypocrisy? Or is it just another "mad as hell" slogan?
I was struck by his refusal to talk. I met an old man with a MAGA hat, said good job, and we had a discussion. He was old, uneducated, but a very alert and conversant man. This guy wasn't. Here in St. Louis, the real Biden supporters I see who are openly for the old sleaze are older, retired people. They wear the Biden T-shirt, and almost always wear a mask.
So, I want your opinion: "Make lying bad again." Is it anti or pro Trump, or God help us, pro Biden? Please comment.
