There was a bevy of these types from the era. Colleen Moore was a perfect example of the type. I've a penchant for a sharp bob and pert features, as it epitomizes class and the female so beautifully.
I swear my ex-wife was spit from the same womb, or at least same genetic stock, as this woman.

I never heard of Valda Valkyrien. Reading about her, and her name, make her seem to be a character from the Great Aryan Novel. But she is real!

Mini biography
The real-life Baroness DeWitz, Valkyrien played bit parts at Great Northern in Copenhagen in 1912 before signing with US producer David Horsley. She later switched to the Thanhouser company who featured her in exotic melodramas partially filmed in Jacksonville, Florida. William Fox lured her over to his company with promises of star-billing and heavy promotion. Unfortunately, Fox failed to deliver and Valkyrien sued him to the tune of $25,000. The outcome of the suit is lost to history but Valkyrien was through as a star. She played supporting roles opposite Clara Kimball Young and was featured in several very low-budget independent films. Leaving films in favor of the Ziegfeld Follies, Valkyrien showed up in Hollywood in 1927 with hopes of resuming her screen career. That didn't happen and she retired permanently.
Baroness Von DeWitz (later known as Valda Valkyrien) was first married to Danish Baron Hrolf Von DeWitz, who first met his future wife when she was still the prima ballerina of the Royal Danish Ballet. Baron Von DeWitz was the author of several books, including War's New Weapons, in 1915. The brief marriage between the Baron and Valda Valkyrien produced a single son, Arden Von DeWitz in 1915. The Baron and Valda's son went on to become an internationally known artist whose works hang in museums around the world. Later, Valda married New York industrialist Robert Otto with whom she had another child, Jean Otto.
