As many readers know, media smear stories on the BNP increased during the European election campaign and have continued after the party won two seats. I noticed the media have started to play the anti-Semitism card in the latest offensive. Reacting to a story by the Daily Express falsely claiming the BNP bans Jews from joining the party, Nick Griffin issued the following statement, also broadcast in an email.
“This smear is the all the more outrageous considering that the BNP has many Jewish members and also a Jewish councillor in Epping Forest, Cllr Pat Richardson (pictured right).”
I and other observers have pointed this out, and I welcome Mr Griffins statement. Why do I welcome this you may rightly ask, given the party is intended for indigenous people i.e. British and close kindred stock? Well by admitting there are many Jews in the BNP it is also an indirect admission (for me anyway) that there are many Jews in Britain. They are not a tiny minority, and most of the Jews in the party are not the orthodox ones with the sole exception of one Rabbi. There are also Jews in the BNP who are married to white gentile partners, whether those partners are members or not. I don’t what Mr Griffin really thinks deep down on this matter, but it’s good to see some truth finally come out on this issue.
