Back in the late fifties and early sixties when the snivel rights movement was all, "We shall obercu-uh-um. . . ", "Keepin' dey eyes own da prize . . .", and such, there was still a lot of fight left in Southern men. There were reprisals vented on niggers when they got too uppity. One of those reprisals was called 'nigger switching'.

The way it worked is this, say there'd been a demonstration. Niggers marching and shouting, and making this and that demand. After the festivities were over and the niggers went on their merry way a bunch of good ol' boys would get together. They'd cut some hickory switches. The thick end would be about as thick as your finger and the overall length about five feet. Then, they'd pile into several cars and take off. When they'd see a nigger walking beside the road, they'd accelerate, swoop in, lean out the window, and SMACK the nigger with the switch, then speed off into the night. Just good clean fun, you know. The law enforcement officers at the time just couldn't seem to catch the switchers.

This was in southwest Georgia. Do any of ya'll remember nigger switching? I've also heard of nigger boarding but don't know of anyone, at least in my area, that did that.
