Hate Group Hones in on Miree Murder

A national hate group is honing in on a Mobile murder case. Earnest Wiggins, Bo Taylor, Jamal Lang and Michael Lee are all charged with murdering Kyser Miree. As LOCAL 15's Andrea Ramey reports, the group says it wasn't robbery, it was about reparations.

According to multiple websites and blogs, the four defendants didn't go to Kyser Miree's home last April to rob him, they went there to get reparations.

"I doubt very seriously that the four young men involved here ever heard that word," said District Attorney John Tyson, Jr. "I think it's nonsense."

The radical sites try to link Miree's family to slavery. The sites even call Miree's alleged killers "courageous."

District Attorney John Tyson, Jr. says his office recently became aware of these sites and notified the FBI. The agency won't confirm or deny there's an investigation into the sites or the group behind them.

Kyser Miree's father Ben has seen these sites, too. Earlier by phone he said, "I really don't want to escalate something that's in that category. I don't intend to respond to those people or websites."

"Part of what's disturbing is that this family or any other family has enough to deal with, without also having to put up with this kind of nonsense," said Tyson.

The Southern Poverty Law Center says the group behind these blogs is called "Black Foot Soldiers." It was just listed last year as a hate group and already has grown from one chapter to six nationwide.
