Arthur Kampf (1864-1950) was a German history painter, considered to be part of the Düsseldorf school of painting. He was president of Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin and a member of the Prussian Academy of Arts, and quickly joined the National Socialist Party when they came to power. He was prominently featured in 1939’s “Great German Art Exhibition” and selected as one of the 24 culture creators in 1944 on the “special list”, meaning he was incredibly important to the German nation.
