Ok, I have read it. It appears this bill is aimed at illegal aliens and border security. Everything else being written here outside of the language of this bill is wild specualtion. In my opinion, time would be much better spent confronting the real issues confronting us here and now. Just my humble opinion, and I will now leave the thread so this topic can be discussed with no more interference from me.

Yes, I honestly do. Although I doubt it will visibly originate from the gov't.

Right now, RFID chips are routinely installed in animals (pets and livestock) for tracking purposes. It will be a very short time until a seemingly harmless company starts marketing RFID chips for children (one step beyond the fingerprint and photo ID kits being marketed now). After that becomes accepted, other companies will begin offering additional and/or speedier service to adults with RFID technology implanted.

The groundwork propaganda has already begun. Does anyone recall this commercial from a couple of years back? It showed a grungy looking young guy walking through a grocery store putting items inside his jacket. It was designed to look like he was shoplifting. As he walked past the checkout the clerk yelled out "hey!" When the grungy guy turned around, the clerk said "you forgot your receipt." Then a quick voice over by an announcer describing the wondrous future RFID technology will bring us.

That's how it will start. As a perceived convenience to consumers. When enough of us have jumped on the RFID bandwagon, those who have not will be looked upon with suspicion. People without the chip will be routinely subject to extra "security screening."

Twenty years ago, no one would've believed that in 2006 you'd need a gov't issued photo ID to board an airplane or check into a motel. But, here we are.

It most definitely is coming. Sure, a few bible thumpers are going to scream "Beast" but by then the majority of people will write them off as nut jobs.

I recently read in an article or thread somewhere that reported that WalMart has 600 suppliers that will be placing RFIDs in their products.
Levi jeans supposedly has them in their products. You buy it? We know where the product is. IOW, we know where you are if you're wearing them. Detractors never fear, it will,and is, happening. As the country gets browner the average IQ will drop and make sustaining these technical systems of security and control more difficult. You can bet, theses chips are coming. They have been doing dogs, and livestock for years, with no ill effects.

They are doing very similar stuff with convicted child molesters, with the ankle bracelets, nothing implanted, YET. They will start with criminals, cause no one gives a shit about them.

Once this is accepted, they will move on to your children. Under the guise of being able to protect the kids by knowing where they are at all times.

Then it will become as mainstream, as having a drivers license.

They probably won't stop there, by the time this does happen, and it will.They will more then likely have the technology to interfere with your brain waves, and reprogram you, any time they like.

Also, whenever they tell you its' for your protection, look out!!!

On Feb. 12, the Financial Times reported on CityWatcher.com, a Cincinnati-based company implanted RFID (Radio Frequency ID) silicon chips into two of its employees. The company defended the practice, assuring that the procedure was not meant to track employees or infringe on their rights, but anti-RFID activists took exception. "It worries us that a government contractor that specializes in surveillance projects would be the first to publicly incorporate this technology in the workplace," Liz McIntyre said in a press release, triggering "irate e-mails" to CityWatcher.com's Web site.

At age 12, Derek became certified by Microsoft as a systems engineer. He was qualified to run corporate computer networks.

Two years later, he and his family had identity chips implanted on live television. They were the first family to get VeriChip IDs, made by Applied Digital Solutions.

Derek pushed his parents to look into the chips as a way to help store medical information for his father, who suffered a host of illnesses.
