Nicole Hanley has been suspended from her job as a result of her alleged political affiliations.

An Australian Defence Force contractor, she was suspended from work upon claims she was an adminstrator of the web forum Blood and Honour. The claims were made by whistleblower site Wikileaks, which contained a hacked database containing private messages, and published by the Sydney Morning Herald Newspaper.

Even though the Department of Defence conducted background checks on all Thales contractors, claims about Hanley's links with Blood and Honour were unknown to Thales or the department until smh.com.au provided copies of the private messages.

Thales immediately began an investigation and suspended Hanley, citing they take security "extremely seriously”.

Thales group has breached the anti-discrimination act, by suspending a person on the basis of their political affiliations.
