Our son arrived on February 1st, 2 weeks early but very healthy and robust! At 8lbs 11 ounces, I am thankful for such a big boy but am glad he didn't need to brew for the remaining 2 weeks.
He's already a content, happy little guy and he's being very patient with his first time Mom. I am over the moon in love.
I had a bit of a hard time, I became eclampsic and even though things were going well in spite of that, the situation became acute suddenly and I needed to have an emergency C-section. Luckily, the cure for toxemia is birth, so all is well, even though I was critical for a few hours (blood pressure was 184/107). Scary stuff, but I am happy to say that my Doctor has assured me that pre-eclampsia is usually only seen in first pregnancies so hopefully future pregnancies won't end so dramatically!
His 1 minute apgar was 9 (so was his 5 minute one) so I was relieved that the knockout drugs I was given didn't seem to affect him. That was a big load off.
My hubby is due back home tomorrow.. poor guy took a work contract for a few weeks and missed everything. Both the baby and I were under orders to wait until he got back, but our little guy couldn't wait apparently.
So please welcome my son, Wolfe Strachan.7
