Let's all use public access t.v. Here is a small guide to help you get started, generally speaking there are two ways you can go about this
1. play videos that are already produced
2. use the studio and make your own programs
In most cases its Free!
Generally speaking there is a small tax you pay on your cable bill that goes into a fund for public access. In our area our cable provider is Charter but our public access station has there own office. Here I will list some steps you can use to get this going.
also send an email randygray@midlandtv.net
in the RE section of the email be sure to put Public Access TV
1. Locate whether or not you have a Public Access Station if your not sure try calling your local chamber of commerce or http://www.publicaccess.org
2. Call them and ask about showing a video that is produced outside of your area. no need to mention the type of show, you don't want to let them in on what your doing just yet
3. Most likely you will need to go by the station and get an application and get a copy of any rules and regulations they may have before submitting your program.
4. you need to know general information such as what type of format will they need the video in such as DVD or VHS. If on dvd then what type there are a lot such as -R or +R. Will the station use a disclaimer and will they put that on the video or will you have too.
5. At this point if everything looks good get the format needed. Take the video and application filled out of course to the public access station.
6. It may be 3-4 weeks before first airing. also some videos need to be turned in weekly or at least once a month the key is weekly that way a different show is played.
