Lots of us used to be conservatives once. Now they are opening the gates and begging the barbarians to come back in!

Dear Fellow Conservative:

I want to pick your brain—for the good of the conservative cause!

And I’m not asking you for money anywhere in this e-mail. I’m asking for your ideas, not your wallet.

The Democrats and the Left are on the march. The Republicans are in denial, rewarding failure by keeping their old Big Government leadership in place. Too many conservatives have grown discouraged or apathetic after years of getting tokenism and rhetoric from the GOP, but little action.

And the federal government keeps getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger!

I’m in the process of developing a detailed plan as to how conservatives can re-launch and renew the conservative movement. In the coming year, I expect to be devoting a significant amount to time helping provide leadership to re-launch the conservative movement. I have a number of ideas on how to do this, some of which I discuss in my new book Conservatives Betrayed.

But of course I don’t have all of the answers by any means. So,

How do we re-start the conservative movement?

What new things do we need to do, that we haven’t done before? (Insanity has been defined, after all, as doing the same things you’ve done before and expecting different results.)

How do we turn conservative ideas into government policies?

What do we do about the Republican Party? Can we take it over again, and this time make sure that it governs as a conservative party? How?

What should be our relationship to the Democratic Party?

Frankly, I’m not hearing good answers from most of the conservative leaders in Washington. They keep saying pretty much the same things over and over again, and some of them even have a stake in the Big Republican Government, a stake they’re trying to protect.

And I certainly am not hearing any good ideas from the Republican leadership in Washington!

Then it occurred to me: Why am I looking to Washington for answers? That’s not a very conservative thing to do! My long-time friend, Stan Evans, has repeated a warning for as long as I’ve known him: “When Our People go to Washington, they’re no longer Our People.”

That’s why I’m turning to YOU—and tens of thousands of grassroots conservatives like you. The grassroots, not Washington insiders, have always been the strength of the conservative movement.

I’m betting that you have some thoughts about the questions I posed above.

You can help figure out how to re-launch the conservative movement with one, two, or ten ideas. Again, I’d like to have your thoughts on:
