These places have very hot summers, but DRY SUMMERS. Consequently some of us developed olive skin as a protection against solar radiation, but because of the lack of year round warmth and humidity, we never developed flared noses,linky hair, thick skin and limited carnial capacity that typifies people that evolve in tropical enviornments.
None of us no matter how pale have literally White skin, nor do Blacks have literally black skin. These are merely terms of art as these literal colors do not occurr on human beings.
The real point is simplt that there is an obvious difference between even the darkest Sicilian and a Tamil.
Whats more, if you see mixed people , racial mixture NEVER shows simply in the darkening of skin. It is always also manifest in hair texture and and morphology.
In fact when I was traveling in Mexico, every now and than you would see a person with nappy hair, but not otherwise showing Negroid features. Mexico had a small Black population that more or less became throughly absorbed in the general population outside of Quintana Roo (A district of Yucatan).
