Back to the 81 year old man. He had contacted the roofer through a neighbor who did not know him well and who probably assumed the old man was sane.

Back to the conversation I was having with him. He was completely incensed that the crew was white. At first I didn't interpret his statements, and thought he was criticizing the spic roofing crews, but no, he actually said that whites were lazy, and couldn't do the job. This isn't just liberal, democrat...this is insanity.

Normally I would just go back to my beer, but I tried to set him straight, and even told him (excuse the polite words) that Hispanics simply were not mentally or culturally capable of doing quality work, and that they took forever to do what a white crew could do competently and quickly.

The old man jumped up, and left the brewery, flapping his arms. He hasn't been back. To repeat, this 81 year old man is white European, successful, and well-off. To put it mildly, I was and still am confused.
