A question from Quora.
"Is the ADL definition of Racism in of itself racist?"
Yes, it is. Or, at least, it was for a long time. Here’s the ADL’s racist definition for racism:
“Racism: The marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges White people.”
You always have to take a statement by the ADL with a grain of salt because they lie a lot. But Jonathan Greenblatt said he would change the definition to be more inclusive about who can be a racist, who can be the victims of racism, and what constitutes racism.
Here, allegedly, is the ADL’s new tentative definition:
“[Racism] occurs when individuals or institutions show more favorable evaluation or treatment of an individual or group based on race or ethnicity.”
We'll have to wait to see whether the new definition holds up when the institution is the legacy media and the ethnicity is Jewish. I have a suspicion that the new definition will be applied selectively, depending on which ethnic group stands to benefit from it.
