The end of anonymity on the Internet?

As the joke goes, on the Internet nobody knows you’re a dog. But although anonymity has been part of Internet culture since the first browser, it’s also a major obstacle to making the Web a safe place to conduct business: Internet fraud and identity theft cost consumers and merchants several billion dollars last year. And many of the other more troubling aspects of the Internet, from spam emails to sexual predators, also have their roots in the ease of masking one’s identity in the online world.
Change, however, is on the way. Already over 20 million PCs worldwide are equipped with a tiny security chip called the Trusted Platform Module, although it is as yet rarely activated. But once merchants and other online services begin to use it, the TPM will do something never before seen on the Internet: provide virtually fool-proof verification that you are who you say you are.

Moral of the story: Get your paws on a computer that doesn't have the TPM chip, keep it in good condition, and use only that computer for internet use, if you're worried about what the TPM chip might convey.
the TPM will do something never before seen on the Internet: provide virtually fool-proof verification that you are who you say you are.
I can see where this would worry you.

There are and always will be operating systems that will not enforce these kinds of action through this TPM. TPM is a kind of ass-backwards corruption of the idea of “Security through transparency”: it works well in some areas, but it isn't one-size-fits-all by any stretch of the imagination. The recent spate of computers containing personal information on veterans, HMO customers, credit card companies and data miners has done nothing to make their unwitting victims “safer” following this line of logic.
Certain distributions of Linux, for right now and for some time to come, will not make use of this technology. Winblows, on the other hand, won't be able to keep it's hands off your data simply because it will be immensely profitable to sell, sell, and resell all information about you] http://www.solargeneral.com/news/linux.htm <-- A bit dated, but a good place to start if you want a more secure alternative.
If you feel a bit daring, try AnonymOS: http://kaos.to/cms/content/view/14/32/
It will be a bit harder in the future, but privacy will simply be in the hands of those who are skilled and determined enough to enforce it. Using a different OS is the first step.

The major government security agencies have the technology and resources to use the internet to track anyone who uses it to their front door if they so choose. Just because they are not prone to using this technology to find the true criminals does not mean that it does not exist.
And so, sean whatever, if you are looking to scare people who post here with your "boogeymen", you are even more of an idiot than I originally assessed you as.
Smart people are already protecting their financial interests. Freedom of speech is still freedom of speech. This is a forum for White racists, not an organization. Need I say more?
Why are a lot of my old threads being bumped? I go for a day without posting new threads and people being to dig up old threads.
I didn’t know my research had become that interesting and addictive.

The TPM chip was created by a coalition of over one hundred hardware and software companies, led by AMD, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Microsoft and Sun. The chip permanently assigns a unique and permanent identifier to every computer before it leaves the factory and that identifier can’t subsequently be changed.(BULLSHIT, when there is a will there a way, especially when it involves ripping somebody off It also checks the software running on the computer to make sure it hasn’t been altered to act malevolently when it connects to other machines(I SUPPOSE LINUX AND OTHER OSes WONT SUPPORT THE CHIP THEN) that it can, in short, be trusted. For now, TPM-equipped computers are primarily sold to big corporations for securing their networks, but starting next year TPMs will be installed in many consumer models as well.
Honestly, I think this idea sounds cool, I cannot wait untill this new chip is hacked, cracked, emulated by software and ends up a major mistake for its manufactures.
Besides, i bet 90% of you are not anonymous online. You do the obvious, leave your name and personal info on these forums, and also, your internet provider gives you an address called an internet protocol or IP address. Although there is ways around this, unless you are completely dissassociated with your internet provider (use someone elses account or a public or wireless terminal to log on to the net), you are never anonymous, if they want to trace you bad enough,it will be done.
Watch out for the black helicopters, they make a mess when you shoot them out the air

I forget-- what month of 2004 was it White Revolution locked Alex out of his own board?
Why don’t you honor your religion? Christians are commanded to be Christ like, shouldn’t creators be Klassen like? I think he set the proper example for creativity, which is why I am honoring him.
Christ was slaughtered by Jews who hated him because of his stand against Judaism, wonder what ever became of Benjamin Klassen. Did the Jews feel the same way about him?
Remember there is more evidence that Klassen was a Jew than there is to prove Christ was a Jew.

Since you are so good at searching my posts and remember Doc facts. You should remember I don’t sleep.
You have a serious case of Doc envy.

There is an old Vonbluvens show from a few years ago where he talks about an "Israel Chip" or something like that. Sounded like science fantasy back then but now, woah.

I think you are getting paranoid Chain. Tell us about your Hebrew first name and how exactly did you get wealthy? I have what I have because I live with my parents and have been able to save my money. However you are mysteriously wealthy with no explanation.
You are still angry with me for calling you on posting a dual news post that I beat you to by a week aren’t you?
