Yes anybody can hide their IP with a proxy. Just check and see if the IP they have is an open proxy, if it is they are probably a fake person.

Here are a couple praising Chains accomplishments or expressing concern for his departure. Notice that they usually only get one or two replies. I will give him credit for going around interviewing people and being in front of the camera, however it appears people don’t really care about Chains efforts by himself.

I will even say that some of these threads should have gotten plenty of response but they got nothing.
