Both times i've gone to vote on these Microvote brand voting machines, I've noticed they are junk. An 8 year old could make something like this with his home electronics kit, but somehow Microvote can't make these things work right.
Last year, the ballots weren't lined up right in the windows. I kept pressing the 'cast vote' button and nothing would happen. Same thing this year, I press 'advance ballot' to page two, once, twice, then third time it advances. I press 'cast vote' button and it starts blinking red lights. Does this mean something is wrong? Have I voted? So I press it again, and it thanks me.

I didnt' sign the ballot I cast? How is anyone ever going to verify any of this voting, I don't get a receipt for my vote? I get a reciept if I buy a 10 cent piece of gum but I don't get a receipt confirming who I voted for?

the election process is a joke. It's all based on trust, no way to verify a damn thing.

My solution would be, they scan your ID, your driver's license and PHOTO, AND PRINT IT ON YOUR BALLOT.

Then if there's a challenge, they can go back and have someone actually verify who voted for who.

Also, you should get a copy of the ballot, to take home, to prove who you voted for.
