"The Worst Attack on Our Democracy Since the Civil War"? Nope.
From Twitter, Dec. 19, 2022:
"(W.H. Spokeperson Karine) Jean-Pierre: 'What we saw on January 6th was the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War...Our democracy continues and remains under threat.'"
Two comments:
1. Why is a negro named "Jean-Pierre"?
2. There were many terrorist attacks against America in the 20th century. For example, Puerto Rican terrorists literally attacked the United States Capitol building with guns on March 1, 1954 [1]. And in the 1970s, leftist bombs exploded all over America, with surprising regularity, even at government installations [2]. Leftists are the kings of political violence.
On Jan. 6, 2021, protesters were let into Congress (the Capitol) by security guards. They just walked in. But, according to credible reports, several leftist "antifa" terrorists, posing as MAGA supporters, did cause harm and mayhem to both people and property at the Capitol. According to reports, President Trump wanted to call out the National Guard beforehand, but was overruled by the usual Congressional leaders. (Can't have a "false flag" event if the National Guard is there, now can ya?).

[1] Web quote: "They (the Puerto Rican thugs) drew guns and began shooting down into the floor of the House. It was the most severe assault in the history of the Capitol building. In all, five members of Congress were hit, and while some were critically wounded, they all survived."
[2] Thanks to the psychological feature called Affect Intensity, the political Left is much more prone to violence than the Right. For example, the Marxist group called Weather Underground committed at least 25 bombings in 1974/1975, including at the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, the California Attorney General’s office, and a New York City police station. Even worse than that, hundreds of left-wing-committed bombings occurred in America during the early and middle 1970s.
