To easily download larger files . . .
Below is a program to help download (DL) larger files. Say for example, if you wanted to download a 100mb file, but while downloading, it kept dropping off, thus losing the file. You would be forced to either abandon the DL or start all over, only to have the same thing happen again. Or, if you are on dial-up, which makes it almost impossible to download larger files, with this program, you will be able to DL without these problems, even on dial-up. Plus, you can stop and start the DL any time you want. Say, if you were to take a break from the computer, you could start a DL, and when you came back and didn’t want the DL taking up system resources, you could stop (pause) it.
I’ve used this program for over a year before I decided to buy it. Although it ’reminds’ you to buy it after every 4th or 5th use, you can use it for as long as you want without ever buying it.
I have two internet connections, I have broadband satellite (from Hughes) which limit’s the usage to 350 megs a day and slows the top speed of 131kbs down to about 80-90kbs after only 120 megs or so is used within a short period of time. (And no, the White sales people don’t explain that to you before you sign on, but the Indian “techies” do AFTER the contract is signed. It‘s just the way Jewish businesses operate in America and elsewhere. Just like when prices go up on everything each year. No matter if it cost more or not - oye vey, we‘ve had a price increase this year again!) Anyway, since I have a limited amount of usage per day, and since my wife uses the same connection on a different computer, sometimes when I want to DL a larger file, I will DL it over several days. Dl’ing only 50 or so megs at a one time. The program below allows me to do that, stopping and restarting DL’s as I desire.
I also have a wireless broadband internet card. The card receives broadband, but only when I’m close to the city. When at home, it only gets 5-6-7kbs. So sometimes, if I’m using my desktop, yet want to download a large file or even a bunch of smaller ones (like MP3’s) I use my lappy (on dial-up) with the “Get Right” program below.
I read a post by Yankee Jim concerning Amo’s and Andy and after listening to a few of their shows, I wanted them all! I ended up DL’ing about 400 MP3’s from that site, somewhere around 3 gigs. I used my lappy (on dial-up) and Get Right to do this. It took three days to DL, but who cares? I plugged them in and a couple of days later I have tons of MP3’s. I do the same when I DL media, for example I DL’ed DD’s hour long Flanders speech while I was sleeping. I set it to DL, went to bed and by morning all 101 megs (on dial-up) was DL’ed. And (in my case) I didn’t have to use any of my allotted 350 megs a day from the satellite connection. Great program.
Get Right won’t DL everything, for example you can’t use it for FLV files, the files that are associated with Google and Youtube video, but it will help with most other types of DL’s.
I am mentioning this because I read were someone was on dial-up and couldn’t get the larger file DL’s - yes you can, download the “Get Right” program and you will be able to.
Most people (I’d assume) have a quick connection, but for the people who don’t, this is a good program. And even if you do have unlimited usage from a fast connection, you can still use it to ‘pause’ a DL to free up your computer for browsing, playing online games, etc. Or even downloading numerous items while you’re at work or away. Remember, even though they hound you to buy it, you don’t have to unless you want the upgrade, but the program will do want you want without that.
Hope this is help to some people - good luck all . . . .
PS: There are other programs of this type and I’ve tried a few but to me, Get Right works the best. The only negative I can think of offhand, is if you are on a page with multiple targets that you want to DL, with Get Right you have to go through the motions of DL’ing each one (after you plug in all you want to download, it will download them automatically - just that you have to plug in each item one at a time). There’s another program called DAP that has an option to DL everything on a page and I’ve tried it, but the damn thing literally DL’s everything on the page - MP3’s, pics, , vids, links and some shite I can’t even begin to explain what it is. So to me, I’d rather pick out each individual item that I want to download and know exactly what I am downloading rather than to be surprised AFTER it downloads.

All myself and my president ask is that you don’t download any 911 videos. Oh yea and those videos about the Iraq war, the Afghanistan war, the lost economy, the billions of dollars stolen, immigration, cod slapping Condi, that homosexual relationship thing, the drug and alcohol problems etc, etc, etc.
