The Origin of Consciousness
by Julian Jaynes
excerpt from Wikipedia:
At one time human nature was split in two, an executive part called a god, and a follower part called a man.
Neither part was Consciously aware.[1]

According to Jaynes, ancient people in the bicameral state would function in a manner similar to that of a modern-day schizophrenic. Rather than making conscious evaluations in novel or unexpected situations, the person would hallucinate a voice or "god" giving admonitory advice or commands, and obey these voices without question. Others have argued that this state of mind is recreated in members of cults. (cult of the jew)
In his 1976 work The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, Julian Jaynes proposed that human brains existed in a bicameral state until as recently as 3000 years ago. Jaynes builds a case for this theory by citing evidence from many diverse sources including historical literature. He took an interdisciplinary approach, drawing data from many different fields.
Jaynes asserts that until roughly the times written about in Homer's Iliad, humans did not generally have the self-awareness characteristic of consciousness as most people experience it today. Rather, Jaynes argued that the bicameral individual was guided by mental commands believed to be issued by external "gods"—the commands which were so often recorded in ancient myths, legends and historical accounts; these commands were however emanating from individuals' own minds. This is exemplified not only in the commands given to characters in ancient epics but also the very muses of Greek mythology which "sang" the poems: Jaynes argues that while later interpretations see the muses as a simple personification of creative inspiration, the ancients literally heard muses as the direct source of their music and poetry.
Jaynes inferred that these "voices" came from the right brain counterparts of the left brain language centres—specifically, the counterparts to Wernicke's area and Broca's area. These regions are somewhat dormant in the right brains of most modern humans, but Jaynes noted that some studies show that auditory hallucinations cause increased activity in these areas of the brain.
For example, he asserts that, in The Iliad and sections of the Old Testament in The Bible, no mention is made of any kind of cognitive processes such as introspection, and he argues that there is no apparent indication that the writers were self-aware. According to Jaynes, the older portions of the Old Testament (such as the Book of Amos) have little or none of the features of some later books of the Old Testament (such as Ecclesiastes) as well as later works such as The Odyssey, which show indications of a profoundly different kind of mentality—an early form of consciousness.
Jaynes noted that in ancient societies, the corpses of the dead were often treated as though they were still alive (being seated on chairs, dressed in clothing, and even fed food) and he argued that the dead bodies were presumed to be still living and the source of auditory hallucinations (see ancestor worship).[3] This adaptation to the village communities of 100 individuals or more formed the core of religion. Unlike today's hallucinations, the voices of ancient times were structured by cultural norms to produce a seamlessly functioning society.
In ancient times, Jaynes noted, gods were generally much more numerous and much more anthropomorphic than in modern times, and speculates that this was because each bicameral person had their own "god" who reflected their own desires and experiences.
Even in modern times, Jaynes notes that there is no consensus as to the cause or origins of schizophrenia (the subject is still hotly debated). According to Jaynes, schizophrenia is simply a vestige of humanity's earlier state. Jaynes noted that many schizophrenics have "command hallucinations" wherein the "voices" command the schizophrenic to commit certain acts. In Jaynes' argument, these command hallucinations are little different from the commands from gods which feature so prominently in ancient stories.

The ink of the learned is as precious as the blood of the martyr. For one drop of ink may make millions think.
I read that book in college. His theory is bullshit.
His theory is bullshit.

It’s wise to approach this book with skepticism. However, there are large gaps in what we know of the origin of consciousness and Jaynes at least gives us a “process” by which that awareness may have developed. I am aware of the critical reviews of this book and the controversy, and I am also aware that many of the debunkers were jews. That waves a red flag to me, telling me to take a closer look.
In any case...........
In the beginning of the book where he speculates to the incremental conditions that may have given rise to religion formation are very plausible.
I posed this book and it’s ideas as a possibility to explain where the illogical thought process of the lemming might have it’s roots. In my opinion it goes deeper then your garden variety hypocrisy and that it is pathological in nature.
It is a fact that the jew will not give us the answers. We must be open minded and seek out the truth on our own.

Sorry, it's been over 20 years since I read it. I doubt I'm the best source to give a critical analysis.
It’]Actually, I had approached it wide-eyed and hoping he was right. I wanted to believe I was gaining some kind of insider knowledge.
I think part of what makes lemmings lemmings, apart from brainwashing, is LAZINESS.
Something along the lines of:
"Gee, thinking is HARD WORK. - Wait, here comes someone who wants to do my thinking FOR me. - Whew, what a relief! I'll just buy into the basket of pat answers and It'll save me from finding out about reality on my own. - PLUS, I'll get the added benefit of BEING ACCEPTED by all the rest who've taken the same EASY path!"
Such a deal, itz.

Excellent analysis. Anyone who has ever spoken to lemmings notices the dozens of OTHER "hobbies" they are into which take up all of their time: watching sports, sitcoms, action movies, etc..Is it any surprise that they have no spare mental energy for thinking about politics?
When talking to lemmings you'll get nothing more than what "Hannity said today" or "Limbaugh yesterday" or "Monday night's O'Reilly". They literally empower these talking heads as their LEADERS and they submit to their "guidance" 100% percent. And yes you are correct, then they get the added bonus of finding out that their buddy at work does the same thing!! Oh Goodie!!!!
The following WN leaders are too wedgy: Craig Cobb (hates Peter Schaenk and Christians), Peter Schaenk (hates Atheists and Pagans)

Yes, I agree with you fellows on this.
When I first became aware of the fact that jews call goyem cattle, I resented the name and implication. How dare they call us animals! But as I explore the nature of my own kind, the name, cattle, sadly to say is completely apropos’. Behold how the jew breeds us with other inferior cattle. There is no difference between a cattle rancher and a jew.
We are indeed mammalian members of a herd animal that the jew has learned can be easily stampeded. WWI & WW2 and the current wars come to mind. The jew uses his electrified cattle prod (TV) to keep us in line, and if that doesn’t work the jew has special cattle pens called maximum security prisons where the unruly bulls are kept safely away from the rest of the herd.
Here’s a snap-shot of what this bull has planned for the jew.

Jews have taught White Europeans how to engender a wide variety of groups, individuals and causes with certain characteristics that "in reality" simply do not exist.
Nobel Native Americans
Industrious African Americans
Naturing Jews
Compassionate Asians
ALL genuine real characteristics of White Europeans;who consequently are viewed as cold, hateful, arrogant and selfish by most minorities.
These are the ideas and ideals of infantile fantasies, much like religion that unfortunately very many white people cling too in order to justify their fear of inaction and self defense.
