You are absolutely correct to use it in this context. People rarely ever bring up the fact that Israel has nukes, and all but admits it. People never bring up the fact that they've got these diesel-electric subs. Would these subs be capable of reaching US shores, BTW? Even if they couldn't come here, I bet most of Europe is within range.
