Western Loans to the Marxist Soviet Bloc, Pre-1991
Question: if Marxism works (as stupid Western college students claim that it does), why did the Soviet bloc (e.g., the Soviet Union, Poland, Romania, etc.) constantly need to borrow money from the Western world for decades? Hmm? Let's have college girls of both sexes (oops, I mean, ALL sexes) answer that question.
News quote: "In the largest Western bank loan to Moscow since the Russians' 1979 military intervention in Afghanistan, an international syndicate of 31 private banks agreed today to lend the Soviet Union $250 million, the Dresdner Bank announced today. No American banks are included in the consortium, which is led by Dresdner's Luxembourg subsidiary." -- the NY Times, May 17, 1984.
News quote: "As of last Sept. 30 (1981), the Soviet Union and its six East European allies owed Western commercial banks $65.4 billion--an eightfold increase in communist debt since 1970. Both Poland and Romania have fallen behind on their interest payments to Western banks, and even the Soviet Union reportedly has asked some Western companies for a few months' grace in paying bills." -- the Washington Post, May 11, 1982.
News quote: "Soviet-Bloc Loans Split the Cabinet"; "So far this year, American banks have led international syndicates that have raised $1.1 billion for East Germany and $200 million for the Soviet Union. Last week, it was reported that four American banks were leading a syndicate organizing $400 million of additional funds for the Russians to buy American and Canadian grain." -- the NY Times, Dec. 3, 1985.
