Well, for a start, judaism, hence jews, are descendents of Abraham and Sarah. Terminology can be confusing and so for clarification sake, we will call Abraham and Sarah semites. There was no judaism before Abraham. Supposedly he made some type of pact with his g_d.
Arabs are descendents of Abraham and his liason with Hagar, an egyptian handmaiden to Sarah. Ishmael being the son of this union through which arabs trace their descent.
And so, jews are semitic in descendence, and arabs are semite/egyptian in descendence.
What I relate here is according to the jews and the arabs themselves.
When Sarah became pregnant with Isaac, she had Hagar and Ishmael banished. They wandered the desert and ended up in what is now known as Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Who Ishmael married to produce more arabs, I do not know.

I have long theorized, based on many texts that I have read, as well as documentaries that I have seen, that jews are comprised of the outcast refuse of a couple or more civilizations in the area at that time. They even admit in their own bible that they looted Egypt before their "Exodus". I think that these criminals met each other in the wilderness and formed a "tribe". Pooling their criminal instincts with their knowledge of civilizations from where each component of this "tribe" came from, it gave them an edge when it comes to manipulating other peoples. This could explain many of their religious writings, which are similar to myths from other civilizations, such as the flood. They carry these various criminal traits and accumulated knowledge in their genetics, from the original interbreeding of the various refuse, as well as inbreeding down through the ages. Thus becoming the jewish "race".
