Congress passed some legislation allowing retraining for veterans for up to a year that leads to an associate degree or some other certificate for what they call a "high demand occupation." I meet the criteria for retraining and may apply.

Would some of the better posters here peruse this list (pdf file) and give me their opinion on which of the listed occupations would be most financially rewarding in a collapsing economy? I'm also looking for a job that is also autonomous that I can do without being hired by a corporation. Something I can do on my own if possible. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and please ignore the obviously b.s. jobs they list like gaming dealers, travel guides, and the other crap I can't believe they are willing to waste our money on by allowing someone to "train" for such a job.

I'm looking for something substantial that is marketable in a really severe depression.
