I just switched back to netscape from IE precisely because of what 999 was saying, the stupid thing reloads every page everytime, like it doesn't know where the hell it's cached web files are. Also, with IE, on high speed access, it hangs for a couple seconds while it's connecting to the site. With Netscape, everything is lightening fast, the connection and such, and it knows where it's cached internet files are. Much, much better. I tried firefox and it was junk, never tried Opera though, I think Netscape is the best, though.
One thing i've realized with this piece of shit compaq presario is that, if you only got a few megabytes of VIDEO ram, you're computer is gonna run like a piece of shit, no matter how much board ram you got. Having a computer with 128 mb of ram and 16 mb of video ram is better than a gigabyte of board ram and 8 megabytes of video ram. Your video ram is the bottleneck of your computer performance.
Ok, i just had the same thing happen on netscape though. the java icon appears on the lower right, something is running java, although I have nothing but one window open, a simple message board page. I look at the memory usage and Netscape is now using 100 MB of ram. Impossible. Someone is fucking with our computers. I think this is some kind of virus.
They have also fucked up the computers. I bought a compaq presario, sr1403 and , can you believe this, the on/off button is so fucked up, you press it and it doesn't turn the computer on/off. You gotta sit there and hold it for like 5 seconds, til it turns off, and it seems like it does somethin different everytime. Unbelievable, they fucked the on/off button up.
also, what is with this cookie/firewall security thing? It doesn't store cookies so i gotta sign back in on every page, oh wow, thanks alot. Thanks for the high tech security.
Nothing compares to the Hewlett Packard products, they are so easy and elegant and simple to use, and you get so much for your money. I saw a Hewlett Packard on sale at frye's, 400 dollars, you get a gig of ram, a dvd double sided recorder, a 250 gig hard drive, and the hewlett packard support/brand name, unbelievable deal.

This is garbage software. DO NOT INSTALL.
Use WinRAR instead of WinZIP; Windows XP is actually pretty good by my lights.
