He was of course a brilliant musician and songwriter; top of the white gene pool in that regard. Yet, he held a grudge against WASP society which I think was passed down to him through his Irish family.

I'm Irish, and I can say that Lennon's character is quite common among Irish people. My own father is quite similar to Lennon personality-wise.
