We are NOT going to war with North Korea. What is happening there is just more jousting and probing.

Niether China nor Korea are really communist countries. China is really a neo-Facist oligarchy, and NK is just an old fashioned tyranny with communist trappings. The Chinese affinity for NK has less to do with "communist" solidarity than it does with the fact that the Chinese like to use NK to pull our chain.

As for muds rushing accross our southern border in a "collapse," that is exactly wrong. Most of the spicazoids in our country are here because it pays. If it stopped paying, the rush would be in the other direction.

My question is : Will there be a force or group of forces that can trump USA's Carrier Battle Groups, Submarines, Ballistic Missiles, and Massive Airpower? ...because those advantages are really the main things keeping us miltarily formidable. We certainly don't have the manpower to stay engaged much in extended land-warfare. Who out there can really challenge us, being that we have these other highly-developed weapons systems?

The Chinks are trying to give us a run for their money. They're not wasting all that cash Boobus americanus is dumping at Wal Mart as they are using it to modernize their military apparatus at an astonishing rate as well as their own heavy industries while the U.S. on the flip side is dismantling its own manufacturing capability as fast as it can be shipped overseas. The decision-makers in Beijing watched the first Gulf War with no small amount of apprehension due to the ease with which the U.S. military swept aside the well-armed, but technologically-impaired Iraqi military staffed with mostly conscripts. The pre-1991 Chinese military was organized and equipped along the same lines, though of course much larger. Since then, they've been on a massive program of modernization and rearmament and have been trending more towards a professional cadre within the military establishment, but still retaining the massive manpower they're known for. With help from Russia, (Chinese Su-27s are a far cry from their old MiG-21 copies and are far more capable) our "reliable ally" Israel (electronics, radar EW systems and missile technology) as well as our own profit-at-any cost corporoations (e.g. dual-use satellite technology that could be used for MIRVs) they are rapidly eroding the technological edge that ZOG has in terms of military might, though I wouldn't say they are anywhere near parity yet. However, they are still capable of giving ZOG a very black eye should they so choose. The Chinks are patient, if nothing else, and they're probably waiting for the U.S. to cease having any domestic manfacturing capability whatsoever, an event which gets closer by the day. At that time, the Chinese will have won without firing a shot and can do as they please in Asia (I don't think Russia will be much of a deterrent militarily, unfortunately).

Its pretty easy to overcome such things are carrier battle groups. Ill tell you why

We are already spread thin. Granted its mostly a ground fight now, not a lot of carrier based activity but they are still there. So we have a few groups in theater, some in for repairs, some in transit back stateside, or back out. How many conflicts can we take on at the same time and for how long can we keep that number up?

If they tie up a carrier in the med (off Israel of course) one in gulf, another in Indian ocean for Afghanistan, and toss another one to Korea/Japan/China area. That’s 5 of 9 Nimitz class (the big boys) carriers. Plus the ones guarding the doors to home. Refueling and overhaul is a 33-month process for this class with one down right now. So we really have 8 of this class.

The other 2 carriers date back to the 60s and are still fueled by oil. They are non nuclear, therefore, cannot stay at sea as long. In service for 40 years, things break. They are still able to project large amounts of air power, 80 aircraft but are smaller and more limited than the Nimitz class. They are ready to retire them, but cant because we wont have enough carriers to handle what is going on right now.

So how much power can we project for how long? Ships need repair; warplanes need overhaul (they do most of that on ship, but more planes are down less power the carrier has) men get tired. All that has to be done to defeat the carrier is to tie it up. And that’s pretty much done right now.
