At first I had a great looking, polite, tall blonde Estonian girl who processed the whole thing, took my 804 kroons and that was it. Then she asked me to wait cause the consul wanted to talk to me.

I asked him to spell his name. He wrote it out on a yellow post-it note, so I asked for his card, which he produced after he went back to his office. He asked to see my Estonian ID card with the chip in it (all Estonians and immigrants have it-- it is "all-purpose"...so I held it up so he could glance, but then I proffered my HI driver's license (good till 2012) which he accepted and xeroxed.

He asked if I were living here and I said yes--I put my address right there on the form, and I added: "I'll continue living here unless Kapo deports me." (the political police)
"Why would they do that?"
"You might put political pressure on them".

Then Consul Deuerlein grandiosely began silently reading the back of page 2 which reads, in part:"...or been convicted by a court or court martial of competent jurisdiction of committing any act of treason against, or attempting to overthrow, or bearing arms against the UNited States,
or conspiring to overthrow, put down, or destroy by force the Government of the United States.

Surely, "put down" means the way one might "put down" a dog, rather than that phrase constituting a social or "critiqued" synopse.

Anyway, as he was ponderously examining his own form, I asked him if there is a reason I might not qualify.

"What would that be?"
"I know you know what I am doing, or your staff does, even if you personally don't". (The embassy was quoted in the pieces about me). "I know you--and by "you" I mean the United States government--kidnap people and jet them all over the world. If I don't qualify, maybe you could let me know and I'll apply to a free country" (like Iceland or Norway).

Here he smailed largely and said: "You're welcome to renounce your citizenship". (By the way, you can even do this before a consular officer. I am unsure if it can be verbal or must be in document form. If the former, I'm sure they could lie if they chose to-LOL).

Then I mentioned the "no fly" Homeland Security issue and said that "we had covered it", and I know they can adminstratively prevent born-Americans from returning to their own country and that this controverts all Supreme Court decisions about the freedom of Americans to travel in or out of our own country. Then I said that if the government weren't so busy killing hundreds of thousands of people all over the world in the service of Israel, they wouldn't have to have all "this" security. (Example-- they let ONE person at a time into the area where 16 or 20 chairs are. There are three bulletproof glass windows, all with the shades covering them. You wait with a guard...after a bit, a single clerk-girl comes and opens the shade. Outside this chamber, on the street, you must also enter a heated glass "cage" with guards and detectors...Three to four guards in the glass box. ONE person in 12 X 20 foot cage at a time. Speaker to request to enter the cage. Down the street, both sides, about 30 yards away, huge steel "fire hydrant-looking" black steel or iron blocking structures).

Lastly, Consul Deuerlein offered that it is a "big deal" for the government of the United States to refuse a citizen a passport.

I listed my occupation as "journalist". If they don't give it, I'll apply to Norway and Iceland, both of which have refugee policies. Was it the Al Qaeda action vids on http://podblanc.com that upset them, or something we said on Goyfire?
