A teenager shot in the face is home from the hospital.
She came under fire Monday night while working at Lee's Chicken on Vine Street in Springfield Township.
Police are still looking for the gunman.
Her family says the robber was unprovoked and Kara was cooperating, already gave him the money, and he still shot her.
She needs surgery to remove the bullet from her face.
Kara Hooker, 19, was surrounded by friends and family who love her Tuesday night. She was still swollen and still had a bullet, that broke into two pieces, lodged in the right side of her face.
Kara was shot Monday night.
"She's home today (Tuesday)," said Mike Iames, relative. "She's a miracle. We call her a miracle. I mean, she had an angel on her side. Had to."
Police say around 9:30 p.m. Monday, a robber slipped into a back door at Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken at Galbraith and Vine in Springfield Township.
Kara, who's a manager, says the restaurant had just closed. The crook demanded money, and after Kara gave him what he asked for, he fired one bullet into her face.
"She was going to give him the money and he shot her for no reason, no reason at all," said Iames. "He had what he wanted, he could've just left and he didn't. And that's what makes me sick the most."
Investigators say the suspect is a black man around 6'0". Kara says he has a light complexion, brown eyes and is between 170 and 180 pounds.
She also says the man who shot her had on black shorts and black shoes.
Kara says he shot her with a chrome .22 revolver with a black handle.
The family says he could've killed Kara and they want him off the streets.
"I can't even describe how we felt at the time. It just sent chills up our spine to think that somebody would do that to her, it's sickening."
Kara says she needed to recover fast and get home to her 11-month-old son.
The restaurant's owner says she's remarkable. Even from her hospital bed, Kara called the restaurant to check on her fellow co-workers.
The store's owner says police will step up patrols in the area, especially around closing time.
