The annual International Al-Quds Day will be held, Inshallah, this Friday (September 3) around the world. The largest rally, as usual, is expected to be in Tehran (watch video below).

The International Al-Quds Day is held annually on the last Friday of the Islamic month of fasting (Ramadan). Al-Quds is the Arabic name for the city of Jerusalem. Al-Quds Day is to remind the world that the city belongs to its Native Muslim, Christian and Jew Palestinians – and that every moral citizen of the world should support Palestinians’ right to recover it from the control of Zionazi western Jews. The Day first commemorated in 1979, was in response to a call made by Iranian leader Imam Khomeini. “Al-Quds Day is an international day, it’s not a day devoted to Quds alone. It’s the day for weak and oppressed to confront the arrogant powers, the day for those nations suffering under the pressure of American oppression and oppression by other powers, to confront the super-powers. It’s the day when the oppressed should arm themselves against the oppressors and rub their noses in the dirt,” said Imam Khomeini.

In Toronto, people belonging to almost every faith will holding a 2-day Al-Quds Day with a seminar of September 3 and a rally at the Queen’s Park (Parliament) on September 4, 2010.

The major Al-Quds rally in London (UK) will be held on September 4, 2010. In addition similar rallies, as last year, will be held in Pakistan, India, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, South Africa, Gaza Strip, Turkey, the US, Brhrain, Nigeria and many other countries with Muslim minorities.
