Adam Gardin: Canadian Jewish Criminal
Parsing through my 'Google Alerts' the last day or so: I happened to notice mention of another jewish fraudster. This individual, one Adam Cardin, was the owner-propetior of GarCon, which was formerly a well-regarded building contractor (or at least it claimed to be on its reviews). (1) Gardin is described by Canadian Jewish News as being a 'prominent member' of the local jewish community. (2)
As early as September Gardin and his company began walking away from projects that his customers had already paid for and has been hiding away them. One half wonders if he is planning on taking a 'holiday' in Israel some time in the very near future.
It is worth quoting some of Gardin's victims on his vile behaviour towards his (clearly non-jewish) clients.
To wit:
'About a dozen people including Greg Harris say they hired Adam Gardin, the owner of GarCon Building Group, to do renovations on their homes. But when the company suddenly shut down last week, they were not only out thousands of dollars, but their homes were in shambles.
Harris said he hired Gardin in August to put an addition onto the back of his home.
He said he should have known something was off right from the start when he was asked to put down a 30 per cent deposit, which was over $60,000, before any of the work was done.
The project was supposed to take four months to complete but was delayed three weeks.
The renovation also required workers to completely gut his finished basement, which has caused extensive damage to his home.
“Due to not tarping my house when the demolition happened, my entire basement was destroyed – which was completely finished. So we’ve probably got $15,000 of damage plus $50,000 of services not rendered,” Harris said.' (3)
As well as:
'Hajee said Gardin’s 10-year-old company, GarCon Building Group, gutted his North York house in October, dug the hole in November, and abandoned the site in the middle of December.
Two days before Christmas, Hajee said, Gardin made a promise: work would resume right after Christmas.
When his landlord then locked him out of the company office, his confident façade crumbled. He finally conceded, according to Hajee, that he would not complete the project and did not have Hajee’s money.
“I’ve got a big hole, I’m out six figures, and he’s gone,” Hajee said Saturday. “And now I’ve got to get another contractor in to finish up the job. My wife’s hysterical. I’ve got four kids. We’re staying at my sister-in-law’s place, and I’ve got to pay rent here too. We’re all displaced.”' (4)
In addition to:
'Sally Jacquart and her husband hired Gardin in the summer to build a second-floor addition and reconfigure their existing second floor. They compounded their future woes by deciding to add a basement renovation.
“It’s really an intense and crazy situation,” Jacquart said. “We’re trying to keep our emotions out of it and just move forward.”
Jacquart said they paid GarCon $60,000 and received $10,000-$12,000 worth of work. They have been left without a basement, without flooring on their main floor, and with damage to the items that remain, she said.
Their project was delayed right from its September start date, she said, but Gardin had temporarily convinced them a bad project manager was at fault. They are now living in a rental house with their toddler, facing a new fix-up tab she estimates at $50,000 to $75,000 plus a mounting pile of smaller bills and hassles.' (5)
While Gardin also owes large amounts of money to external contractors:
'Canadian Contractor also spoke to another of the subtrade protesters, Hanna Taylor, owner of Hotwire Electric, who has worked with GarCon for several years. She came to the protest at Gardin’s house displaying a board covered with dozens of what she said were bounced cheques that she had received from Gardin. Taylor is taking Gardin to small claims court for the maximum $25,000. She says Gardin actually owes her $35,000.
“He wrote to the court and offered to pay me $500 a month, interest free,” Taylor said. She says the court threw out the offer. After talking to the other subtrades, Taylor estimates Gardin owes, in total, over $1-million.
Asked why she would continue to work for a contractor who had already issued numerous bounced cheque, Taylor says that Gardin threatened to charge her penalty fees of more than she was owed if she walked off his current jobsites. She said Gardin also threatened her with legal action in return if she stopped providing services. She said she felt that continuing to work for GarCon was her only hope of seeing payment. ' (6)
Gardin also treated his employees badly:
'Menezes, a native of Brazil, said he planned the protest for early in the morning so that parents taking their kids to nearby schools would notice the demonstration. “I wanted the most people to see what we were doing.”
Menezes, who worked for the company from the summer of 2013 to the end of 2014, said the company owes him three outstanding paycheques and two weeks’ vacation pay, amounting to $6,000.
He and several other workers waved neon placards bearing slogans like “Don’t trust Adam Gardin” and “Adam Gardin stole our holidays.”
Jason Ponikvar, 33, worked as a general labourer and skilled contractor for GarCon from September to November 2014.
The paydays started coming later and later, he said, and eventually people at the company stopped answering his calls. After several of his contacts at GarCon were fired, Ponikvar said he “started showing up at the office,” and was told the police would be called if he didn’t leave the premises.' (7)
All this goes to show the truth of the old adage: never trust a jew and don't trust Adam Gardin, because he is a jew.
