Madonna has applied to adopt a second child from Malawi, a High Court clerk said, despite the controversy surrounding an earlier adoption by the pop star in the poor southern African country.
According to the clerk, the case will be heard around March 30.
Madonna's lawyer Alan Chinula said he could not comment.
Earlier, a government official said she may visit Malawi in the next few days, bringing her Malawian son David Banda.
"We expect her over the weekend or earlier than that ... but without a doubt she is coming before the end of this month," the official at the Ministry of Gender and Child Development said.
Some Malawians opposed David's adoption, accusing the Government of skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children in Malawi, which has been badly hit by an AIDS epidemicT.N.B..
