New York-Tel Aviv Flight Diverted After Passenger Outburst
BOSTON (AP) — Officials said a Delta flight from New York to Tel Aviv was diverted to Logan Airport in Boston because of an unruly passenger who reportedly rushed the cockpit.
A spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority said the passenger, Itay Atmor, a 22-year-old Israeli citizen, ran to the cockpit and pounded on the door.
Passengers and crew on the flight, Delta Flight 86, subdued him, and the plane, a Boeing 767 with 217 people aboard, was diverted. The passengers were being held on the plane Friday night as investigators interviewed them and checked luggage.
That's funny - no mention of what they did to the attempted hijacker.
I wonder why?
Perhaps the goal was to succeed and then blame it on an Arabs. Who knows;)
But this sure is interesting.
