This is just a nice feel good story that is actually quite amazing as well. The children were boating in a Florida bay with their father. The children were swimming around the boat when the strong current caused the little girl to let go of the boat.

She was wearing a lifevest but was drifting away when Chase, the 7 year old hero who was not wearing a vest, grabbed for her but let go of the boat. The father jumped in, without a vest, to save them both, but he and the little girl began to drift away.

He said he told his son, Chase, to swim for shore and get help. So, for an hour, Chase alternated dog paddling and floating on his back, trying to get to shore.

He did make it and went for help. When rescue personnel finally reached the father and daughter, they had drifted more than a mile from their boat.

This is just an amazing story. I hope someone or some entity steps up and rewards this little boy, this little hero, with something special for him and his family.
