The name of the guy who ran this Ponzi scheme is Russell Todd Burkhalter.
I tried to find out if he is a jew but his name sounds WASPy. Burkhalter is a German name and the actor who played Major Burkhalter on Hogan's Heroes was a jew.
He defrauded 2000 investors to pay for a very lavish lifestyle.
