A man has been left with life-threatening injuries and police have arrested 12 men after a wild brawl in Melbourne's outer south-east.

Police said the fight involved up to 100 people and broke out at the Kananook Railway station in Seaford just after 5:30pm on Sunday.

A 23-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed a number of times in the stomach.

The man, from Seabrook, was dropped off at Frankston Hospital by a group of unknown men.

A number of weapons were seized following the incident, including a machete, a baseball bat and samurai sword.

Police arrested 10 men in their twenties, from Sunshine West, Carlton, Taylors Hill, Deer Park, Collingwood, Truganina, Melton and Ardeer, as well as a 32-year-old man, from Truganina, and a 19-year-old man from Dandenong.

The men have been released without charge, pending further inquiries.
