Bob Grant coming back to WABC
by Claudia PerryWednesday August 22, 2007, 4:40 PM

Bob Grant, the sharp-tongued 78-year old talk host, will return to WABC (770 AM) 11 years after being fired.

Grant announced on Sean Hannity's show this afternoon that he will replace Jerry Agar in the 8 to 10 p.m. weeknight slot sometime in the next two weeks. Agar's last show is tonight.

WABC, which is now owned by Citadel, has had Grant on the air in different capacities in recent months. He has filled in for John Gambling and Hannity has had him as a frequent guest on his 3 to 7 p.m. weekday show. Grant was popular in the afternoon drive slot when he took it over in 1984, drawing high ratings and controversy.

After leaving WABC in 1996, Grant worked at Buckley-owned WOR (710 AM) before leaving January last year. Grant has a home in Manalapan.
