Sarah Palin had a one-night stand with former basketball star Glen Rice in 1987, when Rice was playing for the University of Michigan and Palin was a sports reporter for KTUU in Anchorage, Joe McGinniss claims in his new book, “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin.”
The National Enquirer reports the news in its issue that hits newsstands today. Sporting News first saw this story on Deadspin.

n the book, McGinniss quotes Rice as confirming the one-night stand, according to The Enquirer.
The alleged encounter occurred less than a year before Palin eloped with her husband, Todd, the book says. Michigan played in the Great Alaska Shootout in November 1987.
McGinniss’ book will be published next Tuesday. The book also claims that Palin cheated on her husband with his business partner, Brad Hanson—something that was originally reported by The Enquirer in October 2008.
"As this is an embargoed book I can't comment on the specificity of its contents," David Larabell, McGuinniss' agent, wrote in an e-mail to the New York Daily News. "Also, I haven't seen the National Enquirer article. I don't know about this instance, but they often get these reports right."
