Anti-Semitic incidents fell slightly in 2005, group says

The number of reported anti-Semitic incidents in Canada fell slightly in 2005, but there is still a dangerous level of anti-Jewish activity, B'nai Brith Canada said Wednesday.

Last year 829 anti-Semitic incidents were reported, down about 3 per cent from the number in 2004, according to the organization's annual report released this morning. Still, this is the second highest number ever, and triple the number reported in 2001.

'Anti-Semitic incidents in Canada are on the rise'

A Jewish organization that monitors anti-Semitic activities in Canada said Wednesday the number of incidents last year was the second highest total in the 23-year history of their audit.

B'nai Brith Canada said 829 anti-Semitic incidents were reported to their anti-hate hot line and offices in 2005. A record 857 were documented in 2004. [color="Blue"](829>857 = jewish mathematics at work)
