Calm story:
WANTAGE, N.J. - New Jersey State Police are investigating a recent incident in which CNN commentator Lou Dobbs' home in rural northwest New Jersey was struck by a bullet.
State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones said Dobbs' wife and his driver were outside the Wantage home Oct. 5 when they heard a gunshot around 10:25 a.m. The home is on a farm about 50 miles northwest of New York City.
Jones said a bullet struck near the roof but didn't penetrate the siding and fell to the ground outside. It was turned over to the state police ballistics unit.
On Monday, Dobbs told viewers of his CNN television show that "a shot was fired at my house" and said it occurred after a series of threatening phone calls.
It is small game hunting season, but no hunters were seen in the area.

"Three weeks ago this morning a shot was fired into my house, my wife was standing there," he said on his nationally syndicated radio show Monday. "This follows weeks and weeks of threatening phone calls."
"This shot was fired with my wife not 15 feet away."
Dobbs' comments can be heard below or here.Dobbs said advocacy groups that support illegal aliens and have pressed for him to be fired "have created an atmosphere and have been unrelenting in their propaganda."
