Law would require non-Muslim insignia
Chris WattieNational Post

Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.
"This is reminiscent of the Holocaust," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. "Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis."
Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical "standard Islamic garments."
The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.
Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.
"There's no reason to believe they won't pass this," said Rabbi Hier. "It will certainly pass unless there's some sort of international outcry over this."
Bernie Farber, the chief executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, said he was "stunned" by the measure. "We thought this had gone the way of the dodo bird, but clearly in Iran everything old and bad is new again," he said. "It's state-sponsored religious discrimination."
Ali Behroozian, an Iranian exile living in Toronto, said the law could come into force as early as next year.
It would make religious minorities immediately identifiable and allow Muslims to avoid contact with non-Muslims.
Mr. Behroozian said it will make life even more difficult for Iran's small pockets of Jewish, Christian and other religious minorities -- the country is overwhelmingly Shi'ite Muslim. "They have all been persecuted for a while, but these new dress rules are going to make things worse for them," he said.
The new law was drafted two years ago, but was stuck in the Iranian parliament until recently when it was revived at the behest of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
A spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa refused to comment on the measures. "This is nothing to do with anything here," said a press secretary who identified himself as Mr. Gharmani.
"We are not here to answer such questions."
The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has written to Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, protesting the Iranian law and calling on the international community to bring pressure on Iran to drop the measure.
"The world should not ignore this," said Rabbi Hier. "The world ignored Hitler for many years -- he was dismissed as a demagogue, they said he'd never come to power -- and we were all wrong."
Mr. Farber said Canada and other nations should take action to isolate Mr. Ahmadinejad in light of the new law, which he called "chilling," and his previous string of anti-Semitic statements.
"There are some very frightening parallels here," he said. "It's time to start considering how we're going to deal with this person."
Mr. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly described the Holocaust as a myth and earlier this year announced Iran would host a conference to re-examine the history of the Nazis' "Final Solution."
He has caused international outrage by publicly calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map."
Iran does not yet have nuclear weapons, but Tehran believed by Western nations to be developing its own nuclear military capability, in defiance of international protocols and peace treaties.
The United States, France and Israel accuse Iran of using a civilian nuclear program to secretly build a weapon. Iran denies this, saying its program is confined to generating electricity.

The article failed to mention that a certain "color" of people living in Iran would have to wear this badge attached to their garments.

A very convienient bullshit story:

But independent reporter Meir Javedanfar, an Israeli Middle East expert who was born and raised in Tehran, says the report is false.
"It's absolutely factually incorrect," he told The New 940 Montreal.
"Nowhere in the law is there any talk of Jews and Christians having to wear different colours. I've checked it with sources both inside Iran and outside."

the only reason I thought it could possibly be true on any level is because the Iranian president seems to enjoy toying with the jews and working them into a frenzy, which is a pretty amusing spectacle.(this story might have even originated somehow through that source and for that purpose) But, yeah, this story is all too perfect considering who the new Hitler is and all.
What wil we hear next, that gas chambers are being constructed? lol

These Kikes, "The Bernie Gang" based out of Montreal are the same ones who were behind the Ernst Zundel deportation scheme. They would say or do anything, they operate pretty much with impunity in Canada.
Since jews could just take off any color coded clothing that identifies them, I would suggest that at least the more influential jews be given wrist bands that cannot be removed without sounding an alarm, somewhat like the ankle contraptions people on Home Confinement wear.

was a jew lie.

Iranian Newspaper Slams Canadian PM Stephen Harper

An online edition of Iran's Tehran Times has blasted Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper over his remarks following last week's article published in Canada's National Post which claimed that the Iranian government were ready to pass a bill into law which would require all members of religious minorities in that country to wear coloured badges in which to identify them. The National Post emphasized that Iranian Jews would be required to wear yellow badges similar to badges worn by Jews in Nazi Germany during the second world war.
The story was quickly discounted later that same day but not before Prime Minister Harper commented to reporters during a press conference. When asked about the supposed Iranian bill Mr. Harper said, "Unfortunately, we've seen enough already from the Iranian regime to suggest that it is very capable of this kind of action. We've seen a number of things from the Iranian regime that are along these lines. It boggles the mind that any regime on the face of the Earth would want to do anything that could remind people of Nazi Germany."

Even if it were true, I don’t see what the big deal would be. I wouldn’t have a problem if Christians had to wear a cross (as I do because I am not ashamed) and Jews had to wear a Star of David. Also Odinists would have to wear that circle surrounded by L’s and I guess atheists would have to wear a monkey.
What are Jews ashamed of? If someone is ashamed of their religion then what is the point. Even on VNNF I wear the tag D.O.C.
I guess the problem with the Jews would be because it would be easier to identify the pattern among national troublemakers.

Yes , people would start to recognize a pattern . Every merchant that cheated them or sold shoddy goods was wearing the same badge and it wasn't a cross .

Jews have tried to conceal their identity for years. At one time you could spot a Jew by his black eyes, kinky hair and huge nose. Now they have contacts, hair dye and plastic surgeons to make them look more like gentiles. Then they will change their names and when they do wrong things they will simply say they are white and pass themselves off as white.
With proper identification they will no longer be able to do that and whites will know who is messing them over.
Actually if they can’t see the color of crime, as it is impossible to hide being Negro whites probably won’t be able to notice glaring badges either.

What does D.O.C. stand for?

[color="Red"]The jews are a problem--not our ONLY or SOLE problem, not responsible for EVERY problem faced by gentiles, not some ALL-POWERFUL race that we shouldn't bother trying to resist, not an EXCUSE for avoiding responsibilty for problems of our own making --but nonetheless, A REAL, SERIOUS PROBLEM.--Burrhus
From Justin Raimondo at Antiwar.com

...This story percolated throughout the world via a column by one Amir Taheri, an Iranian exile whose work is distributed and promoted by Benador Associates, which specializes in disseminating neocon war propaganda. Journalist Jim Lobe painted a picture of Eleana Benador, a Peruvian-born publicist for such neocon luminaries as Richard Perle, Jim Woolsey, Michael Ledeen, Frank Gaffney, Charles Krauthammer, Max Boot, and Victor Davis Hanson, that testifies as to how and why this story took off with such meteoric showiness:
"Aside from her success in getting her clients distributed all over the television dial at critical moments in the march to war [with Iraq], what is particularly remarkable about Benador is the speed with which she has built what is obviously a thriving business, based on 17- to 18-hour work days, the personal attention she gives to both her clients and her media contacts, and her conviction that what her clients say is true and right."
In this case, however, Taheri's allegations were neither true, nor right, yet Benador and Taheri himself have not issued a retraction, never mind apologized. Meanwhile, blogger Jim Henley has uncovered evidence that this was not just an honest mistake, but in all likelihood something far less innocent. Henley writes:
"[A]mir Taheri's story quotes 'Mostafa Pourhardani, Minister of Islamic Orientation.' Google searches on variations of 'Iran+Pourhardani' turn up no references that do not stem directly from Taheri's story. That would be flying under the radar! As noted on the Just Adventure Forum, Iran has a Culture Minister named Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi. Google News finds nothing on Pourhardani (or 'Pourharadani') that does not stem from the National Post's Friday story. Go ahead and mouse over all the cabinet posts on the Iranian President's official site. There is no 'Pourhardani' or variant on that name in the cabinet...

I don’t know if that would truly define an atheist. How about a bang or picture of Darwin.
