OK, don't panic, this ain't gonna happen. However, if it did, it would be the funniest damn thing this country has ever done. I would love it. Of course, at 61 I'm safe, at least I think so. I don't want the women to go, though. Leave the women here. Mikey will take care of them. OK, OK, at 61, you're probably safe---but, maybe not.

On February 14, 2006, Congressman Charles Rangel (Democrat - NY) introduced a bill (Universal National Service Act of 2006 - HR 4752 IH) aiming at drafting everyone - men and women alike - from the ages of 18 to 42 into the military for a minimum period of 2 years.
Or to quote the bill: "To provide for the common defense by requiring all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes."
The House is to convene on June 6 (06/06/06] to debate and possibly adopt this bill, that is, unless a vast public outcry succeeds in derailing this insanity, which you can do by writing a letter of protest to your congress person through

There was a typo.

That's funny, Rangel is a democrat and one of Bush's biggest critics. Although I'm sure behind the scenes they're good buddies. Bush, the Conneticut Cowboy and Rangel the High Yella.

Rangel seems to have a sense of humor. It would be very interesting to see what would happen if this next-to-impossible-bill actually passed. 
If I remember correct, the previous draft was > males 18-28, for a 2 year period, done by picking #'s (0-365) out of a barrel.
I'm turning 50 on Tuesday, so Israel cannot have me. :box:

If this bill was passed, and I was ordered to fight an unlawful war for Israel in violation of the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and against the general principles of just warfare, I would [DELETED] the criminal military officer who gave me the illegal orders to fight, and I would not stop [DELETED] until I was killed or the criminals in the government were stopped.

I have a better idea . Draft all bureaucrats, especially those that have never served in the military , regardless of age or sex . Draft the fat slobs in the IRS, DMV , FEMA , Post Office etc. Lets just see how dedicated they are to 'public service ' . Anyone want an open government position ? 
( think of all the money we would save , in federal pensions of those that die in Iraq )
( added to this , the fat slobs , being the slowest and largest targets would be easiest for the Iraqis to shoot, saving us tons in future medical care )
