Fall of Liberty as Nazis Invade the US
Codemasters turns back the clock, casting a new game where the march of Nazi power took the fight to America on its own soil. First screen.
Alternate history is starting to gain a foothold in the games industry. Recent we've had of Resistance: Fall of Man, which takes place in a world where World War II never happened, and now comes Fall of Liberty, which imagines a world where the great war doesn't end.
The game, which is coming next year courtesy of Codemasters, is set during a nightmarish alternate history where the grim reality of Nazi Germany's campaign of hatred in Europe spreads to the US.
How did this all come about? Developer Spark Unlimited, the studio behind Call Of Duty: Finest Hour, imagined what would happen if Winston Churchill been killed by the cab that in our reality only made him dependent on a cane. The game picks up after Germany, already dominating Europe, invades America in 1951.
You'll play as one of the resistance fighters who take the battle to those dastardly Nazis, to put an end to their evil ways. When you start, the White House is already under Nazi occupation and they're planning a nuclear strike on New York too.
There is, however, still time to prepare. Codemasters won't be rolling Fall Of Liberty out until autumn of 2007, when it will be released simultaneously only PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. You can sign up for updates at http://www.codemasters.com/fallofliberty.

That picture is tits! I love it! I'm waiting for when someone gets the bright idea to make a FPS game where you play as a Nazi in WWII. I'll bet they'll be surprised by how popular it is.

Am I crazy or do those swastikas look too thin? The arms are supposed to be the same thickness as the white space in between them.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is merely another "kill the Germans" FPS? At least games like Battlefield: 1942 were relatively neutral politically- you could be the Russians, Germans, Americans, Japs, Brits, and it concentrated on the battles.
It would be interesting if you could play as the Germans, though.

I would be very surprised if the final product in any way deviated from the "kill the Germans" theme that pervades video gaming. Also, since this is a media product, I'm sure the list of this game's soon-to-be monetary beneficiaries will read like a Tel-Aviv phone book.
