Far-Right Rises in Central Europe
Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Far-right parties are gaining popularity in Central Europe. Slovakia provides the most recent example, where a new government coalition has formed that includes an extreme-right party that has rabidly xenophobic views and speaks fondly of that country’s pro-Nazi wartime government.

Though Slovak elections were won by the leftist Smer (Social Democratic) party, it needed coalition partners to form a government. A key party chosen last week was the Slovak National Party. [color="blue"]This party not only sympathizes with the fascist World War ii government of Jozef Tiso, infamous for having paid the Nazis to send 70,000 Jews to death camps, but is itself extremely hostile to the large gypsy and Hungarian minorities within Slovakia. It is known to have proposed such ideas as interning the gypsies in camps.

Slovakia’s embrace of extremism follows on the heels of a similar situation in Poland, where a coalition government was formed in early May in which the far-right, ultra-Catholic League of Polish Families joined with a populist party and conservatives.

The popularity of extremists is increasing in Europe because of widespread dissatisfaction with the way more liberal governments are handling problems such as unemployment and immigration. The right-wing groups promise a solution.

When Jan Slota, leader of the Slovak National Party, was asked by the Slovak Spectator a month before the elections about the threats his party intends to protect the Slovaks from, he replied: “The Slovak National Party sees the trends in the world today, such as Muslim fundamentalism, as very dangerous. Slovakia is an overwhelmingly Catholic country and is disturbed by the flow of Muslims to France, Germany and England, where a great many now live” (May 20).

This type of thinking resonates increasingly with Europeans, and not only those of Central European countries. Western Europe has also seen an increase in popularity of parties espousing nationalist policies such as those aimed at curtailing immigration.

The Financial Times of July 7 warned of the dangers:

[color="Blue"]Set in the context of recent events in Poland and the rise of Jorg Haider’s Freedom Party in Austria in 2000, the concern now is that we are seeing the start of a trend in which each success for an extremist party in one country emboldens and helps legitimize extremist parties in others.

During the election campaign in Slovakia, leading figures in the Slovak National Party successfully countered charges that their presence would be unacceptable abroad by pointing out that Brussels had been forced into a humiliating climb-down in its brief attempt to isolate Austria in 2000 and had done nothing significant in Poland.

So far, these groups have been junior partners to more mainstream parties who say they can prevent extremist rhetoric from translating into government policy. But if this trend continues, it may only be a matter of time before such a party becomes the leading force in government. If that happens, modern European history will have entered a new period.

A “new period” in European history is indeed about to begin. The political success of hard-line nationalist leaders reflects a mood of dissatisfaction among many Europeans. There is a desire for strong leaders, who promise solutions. We can expect such trends to continue in Europe, making conditions ripe for the rise of a powerful leader prophesied to lead a united Europe and have unprecedented impact on the world scene.

The former Soviet eastern bloc is the future of the White race. Western Europe, Canada, and the U.S. are just too Jewed and brainwashed to resist ZOG.

The following WN leaders are too wedgy: Craig Cobb (hates Peter Schaenk and Christians), Peter Schaenk (hates Atheists and Pagans)

This is great news. We have the far right gaining in popularity all over Europe. I am an American living in Europe. I am living in Germany, but soon moving to Russia. That's the epicenter of White Nationalist movement. The Russians are the new Nazis and I hope to contribute to the "cleansing" of their society by force and Machievellian maneuvering! Smash the enemies of White Power!

NEW GOV OF SLOVAK REPUBLIC

Appendix: Non-Exhaustive List of Anti-Romani and Other Harmful Statements by Members of the Parties of the Slovak Governing Coalition

Members of all parties of the new Slovak government have made explicitly anti-minority -- and in particular anti-Romani -- statements in public in recent years. A compilation of statements by senior officials in the three parties of government follows here:

Smer

Mr. Robert Fico, head of the Direction-Social Democracy Party and the new Slovak Prime Minister has made a number of anti-Romani statements in the past, including:

June 15, 2002: Robert Fico’s parliamentary campaign included a promise to “actively effect the irresponsible growth of the Roman population”. (CTK)

January 9, 2000: At a press conference, Fico stated "We can't hide from the problem of economic tourism by some Slovak Romas, who are damaging the interests of Slovakia abroad." Fico also introduced a draft law to the press that would cut social benefits for Roma, claiming that Roma “indulge in speculative requests for political asylum.” (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty)

Slovak National Party (SNS)

Unless otherwise noted, all statements below by Mr. Jan Slota, party chairman of the SNS, as well as mayor of the town of Zilina and Member of Parliament:

June 8, 2006: (about punishment of prostitution): "...those hideous, mostly Gypsies that just stand there... they should simply be beaten..." (TV Markiza)

June 8, 2006: (about homosexuals): "I have no problem with them, if they stay in the shadows and just make their disgusting sexual orgies." (TA3)

June 10, 2005: "If the Slovak nationalist party is extremist, then Hungarians are radioactively extremists, they radiate more than Chernobyl. The best solution would be backfill them with concrete." (Új Szó)

March 8, 2004: "If someone is unable to buy a condom or control his lust, the state should buy him a condom," (on population growth within the Roma minority). (Slovak Spectator)

February 21, 2003: "I think we would increase the income [of Roma] if they got Sk 20,000 for just one little cut. I think a lot of Roma would volunteer for this," (announcing plans to present to parliament a draft law setting out how Roma men would be offered Sk20,000 (480 Euro) in return for being sterilised). (Slovak Spectator)

November 18, 2002: "Minorities terrorize the majority. Everybody [in the world] is fighting terrorism, but here we don't know who or what we are fighting." (reacting to news that his party is to be prosecuted for pre-election broadcasts that allegedly incited hatred against ethnic minorities). (Slovak Spectator)

July 22, 2002: "Drug dealers must immediately be shot, [then-Deputy PM for Economy Ivan] Miklos immediately fired, Hungarians forbidden, Gypsies destroyed, Americans spat on, and the 17 secret service agents sicked on Slota recalled. Is that enough?" (reacting to poll results show his party well below the margin needed to enter parliament after September elections). (Slovak Spectator)

November 14, 2001: Slota, then head of the “True Slovak National Party”, responding to European Union criticism of an episode of police abuse of Roma said it was “the height of cynicism” to criticize Slovak police for actions against “unadaptable individuals of Gypsy ethnicity”. (TASR)

January 28, 2000: The SNS proposed that Roma whose requests for asylum abroad should have their passports revoked for five years. (RFE/RL)

September 22, 1998: Slota: “We [the SNS] are negativist only in saying that parasites have to be eliminated, and parasites are simply those who don't want to work, and the fact that among those people are 95% of all Gypsies is just reality.” (Slovak Spectator)

August 1998: At a party conference of the Slovak National Party, Party member Viazoslav Moric called Roma “idiots” and “mental retards”. These statements caused Moríc’s immunity from prosecution he enjoyed as a member of Parliament to be stripped. (Romano Nevo L’il)

March 5, 1998: At a rally in Kysucké Nové Mesto, Slota: “In no case shall we agree that there is here a Romani nationality. That is absolutely rubbish. They are Gypsies, who steal, plunder and loot!” (Romano Nevo L’il)

October 23, 1996: Slota: “The only way to deal with gypsies is with a long whip and a small yard.” In a radio interview in the same month, Slota stated that “70% of Roma are the cause of Slovak criminality”. (Quoted in: Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe High Commissioner on National Minorities. “Report on the situation of Roma and Sinti in the OSCE Area. March 2000: The Hague.)

August 25, 1995: Slota:: “I love roasted meat Gypsy-style very much, but I’d prefer more meat and less Gypsies.” (Nevipe Foundation, “Press Rrom News Agency Report”, August 25, 1995, reporting radio broadcast).

August 2, 1995: Following the murder of Romani Teenager Mario Goral by skinheads Mr. Slota placed the blame for the attack on Roma, by claiming that it was caused by high “Gypsy (Cikani) crime rates.” (TASR).

People’s Party-Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS)

October 30, 1996: In a televised debate, Party Chairman Vladimir Meciar rejected increased demands from Hungarian minorities, stating that “half of them were actually Gypsies”. (Media Research Institute Daily News Digest)

October 28, 1995: Mr. Lubomir Javorsky, Minister of Health: “The government will do everything to ensure that more white children than Romani children are born” (Narodna Obroda)

September 1993: Meciar told a crowd in town of Spiská Nová Ves, while addressing the higher birth-rate among Roma than among non-Roma, “…the prospect is that this ration will be changing to the benefit of Romanies. That is why if we don’t deal with them now, then they will deal with us in time…” In the same address, he reportedly stated “Another thing we ought to take into consideration is an extended reproduction of the socially unadaptable population…already children are giving birth to children — poorly adaptable mentally, badly adaptable socially, with serious health problems, who are simply a great burden on this society.” (Associated Press)

You are absolutely right. But once a movement gets the critical mass of people it gets a life of it's own. Something you in the West, sadly, are incapable of any more. Too comfortable. Too bloated.
