August 30th, a Lubbock family laid their daughter to rest, while another family prepared for their son's funeral. This, just one day after both families learned the man accused of killing Jackie Little and Bryan Perry will face murder charges.
As NewsChannel 11 first told you August 29th at 5:00 p.m., Gabriel Gonzales faces two charges of murder and two charges of aggravated assault. Gonzales allegedly ran a red light at 19th and Indiana early Monday morning, striking the car driven by Jackie and Bryan. The impact killed Jackie instantly. Bryan died later at University Medical Center.
Bryan's mother, Gina Perry spoke with NewsChannel 11 about the charges. She tells us she feels better knowing that Gonzales is locked up, saying now he cannot hurt anyone else. Gonzales already has three DWI convictions and is jailed on a $1-million bond. Perry says that only means he was caught three times.
We asked Perry what punishment Gonzales should face. She says Gonzales took two lives, and a lifetime maybe the right punishment.
"I'm not a vengeful person, but he needs to pay for what he did. He's changed my life for the rest of my life, for Bryan's brother's lives, you know, Bryan can't ever give me grandchildren. There is a lot of things that he's affected in our lives," said Perry.
Jackie Little was buried August 30th. The family will lay Bryan to rest August 31st. Services start at 4:00 p.m. at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park.
Who drives drunk! Seriously! It's just retarded. If you want to drink, just don't freaking drive! I have to yell at White people about this all the time, as well, and it pisses me off.
