As I said. So I went to an appointment with a vascular doctor for TOS since it's so hard to find doctors for it. I should have went to Dr. Shames or Sommer at TGH. So I went to the appointment to talk to the doctor. He wanted me to get a chest xray. Btw have had all this crap done already, really didn't need it again but I went for the xray since my copay is $20 for xrays so no big deal. I leave his office with the order and drive a mile down the street to the imaging center. Walk in, staff is rude right off the bat including the grumpy old tech, but hell with that.
2 weeks later I get the bill. $383!! That is more than I pay for an MRI under my plan. WTF has to be an error. I call my insurance. They told me Lee Health billed it as a hospital visit! The Lee Health imaging center isn't even near the hospital as well as the doctors office! The insurance lady agrees that's BS they coded it that way and said call Lee Health to have them submit it again. I call Lee Health billing and the woman on the phone is a pure B**** Basically says we bill it as a outpatient hospital visit! I try to explain the imaging center and Dr office is a two story small building and your dumbass can look it up on google images. Wouldn't budge. I also threw in Trump as well about surprise medical bills, seems she hated Trump too.

I call my insurance back. Talked to a different rep and told her Lee Health won't code it differently. Lee Health's bill review is a joke. They call you back a couple days later btw and stick to their original bill. She said next step is appeal it and go from there. They agreed it shouldn't be billed like this because it wasn't a hospital visit and she looked it up the imaging center doesn't look like a hospital as well lol. Turns out this is a Lee Health scam reading on reddit more. NBC2 also had a recent story about someone getting charged 16k for a CT scan at Gulf Coast Medical Center ER with insurance.
I've been to Sarasota Memorial ER twice, even had CT with contrast there and total bill was only $500. 1 Xray at Lee Health imaging is 383 LOL. Even our craptastic terrible HCA Fawcett Hospital here in Charlotte County doesn't bill like this.
I will pay the proper copay for the xray. I will not pay Lee Health their $383. They report it to collection I will file a lawsuit. Think of how much medicare is being ripped off. Something The Justice Dept. needs to look into.
I don't like the hospitals in SWFL. Only one I will go to is the Sarasota Memorial network or Tampa for my surgery. Big fat F U to Lee Health.
